THE SHARD

RENZO PIANO

 

Having said that Renzo piano still decided to build the shard. His inspiration came from masts on 18th century ships which is quite similar to the idea to the venus basket sea sponge in that both are using the current to their benefit rather than oppose it. theres eight falling .Light, the most crucial component needed to have a visually outstanding public space, can be found in vast amounts in both buildings making the building comfortable and welcoming.

BELGIUM ANTWERP COURT

RICHARD ROGERS

The Antwerp law court in Belgium is a building design by Roger's Stirk Harbour and partners it was built in 1998 and was finish in 2006. The court contains 36 court rooms which also has chambers for the judges and lawyers, it also has big open areas with libraries and cafeterias with 6 big open wings that spreads from the spine like legs on a spider, the wings are made of glass, it spreads natural ventilation and it recycles water.

 

The similarities of the Belgium antwerp court and the zayed national museum from the architects invention is that both of them have very similar characteristics they both have open areas  they both represent an important role in their living space and has an importance for the citizens, they have open spaces and large wings that they take the inspiration from the animal and insects from the living things like the zayed museum took inspiration from the falcon and the antwerp court from the body of a spider.

 

L'ASSUT D'OR BRIDGE

SANTIAGO CALATRAVA

 

The Assut de l'Or Bridge is a suspension bridge, designed by Valencian architect and civil engineer Santiago Calatrava. The bridge was built 2005 and was fully completed in December 2008. The name l'Assut de l'Or means the Dam of the Gold and refers to a dam that was formerly located nearby - although locally it is referred to as "El Jamonero" (The Ham Holder) a suspension bridge that connects the south side with Minorca Street, whose 125 meters high pillar is the highest point in the city.

 

Its lightweight frame and technical elegances have similarities with Millau Viaduct bridge by Norman Foster.
